The Lindsey Wilson men’s tennis team was selected to finish second in the Mid-South Conference, according to the MSC Preseason Coaches’ Poll announced by the Conference office on Friday.
The Blue Raiders garnered 33 total voting points and three first-place votes. Coaches were not allowed to vote for their own teams.
Lindsey Wilson captured the MSC regular season title with a 6-0 conference record a season ago, and later advanced to the NAIA National Qaurterfinals. The men’s program has won the regular season title 13 times over the past 14 years.
Campbellsville (Ky.) was picked to finish first receiving 34 points and four first-place votes. The Tigers won the MSC Tournament Title and advanced to the national semifinals last season.
Cumberland (Tenn.) comes in at No. 3 with 26 points, followed by Cumberlands (Ky.) with 20 points.
Georgetown (Ky.) received 17 total points in the poll to be placed fifth overall, while Pikeville (Ky.) is sixth with 11 points. Shawnee State (Ohio) rounds out the poll with six voting points.
The 2018 MSC Men’s Tennis Championship is scheduled for April 20-22 at Kereiakes Park in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
