Alcohol is believed to be a factor in a motorcycle crash involving an Adair Co. man.
The collision occurred on Wednesday night at 9:45 pm on KY 84. Raymond Dillingham age 45 of Columbia was operating a 1976 Kawasaki motorcycle traveling eastbound, when he lost control and overturned. Dillingham was transported to Springview Hospital and then flown to the Univ. of Louisville Hospital for treatment of non life threatening injuries. Alcohol is believed to be a factor. Trooper Donnie Moses is investigating.

A teenager and 2 children of a Casey Co. Amish family were hospitalized on Wed. afternoon following an accident involving a vehicle and a horse & buggy.
Trooper Bryan Shepard is investigating the collision that occurred just after 5 PM on KY 501, 7 miles south of Liberty. 21 year old William Salyers of Liberty was operating a 1994 Chevrolet, traveling northbound on HWY 501. Salyers attempted to pass a horse drawn buggy and failed to negotiate the distance, therefore striking the buggy. The buggy was being operated by 41 year old Joseph Burkholder of Liberty who was not injured. However, 3 of his passengers: 16 year old Irene Burkholder, 10 year old Jonas Burkholder and 8 year old Mary Burkholder of Liberty were all transported to Ephraim McDowell Hospital in Danville for treatment of their injuries.
2 other passengers, 12 year old Alex Burkholder and 5 year old Alvin Burkholder were not injured.

A Marion Co. man has been jailed on attempted murder charges!
On Sun. July 25, Kentucky State Police responded to 1495 McElory Pike in Marion County in reference to a shots fired complaint. Upon arriving at the scene, Trooper John Adams was able to make contact with Joseph Brady (age 46) of Lebanon . Through investigation, it was discovered that Mr. Brady had been armed with a shotgun and been involved in an altercation with a family member. Joseph Brady was subsequently arrested by Trooper Adams for (Attempted) Murder and lodged in the Marion County Detention Center . The investigation is continuing by Trooper Adams.

A fire at a mobile home last Thurs. morning in Adair co. may have been arson.
According to the Adair Progress, the fire at 385 Hendrickson Rd. in the Egypt Community, last Thurs. morning just before 8 a.m. completely destroyed the unoccupied mobile home owned by John Hendrickson.

U.S. Representative Ed Whitfield will host a town hall meeting in Jamestown on Thursday, August 5 to discuss a number of important issues, including the economy, jobs and energy policy with constituents.
The town hall meeting is open to all members of the community.
The meeting will be held at the Russell County Courthouse, in the courtroom on the 2nd floor from 3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Each year, Golden Rule-Wilson Real Estate & Auction Service conducts a "Get Sold on St. Jude Kids" auction benefiting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
The event is held in conjunction with a regularly scheduled auction every year. All proceeds from the donated auction items go to benefit St. Jude, which is the official charity for the National Auctioneer's Association.
This year’s event is taking place this Saturday, July 31, at 10am at the Cletta Aaron Estate Auction located at 1723 French Valley RD, Russell Springs.
Golden Rule-Wilson will be donating a special Fred Thrasher Print to be auctioned with all proceeds benefitting St. Jude’s.

Mon. July 26
4 people were arrested after police located & destroyed a meth lab in Campbellsville over the weekend.
On Sunday, July 25, at approximately 9:47 P.M. Campbellsville Police were serving an arrest warrant, and discovered an active Methamphetamine Lab, at 933 Hamilton Street. After a search warrant of the residence was executed, officers discovered and seized numerous items which are used to manufacture Methamphetamine.
Arrested in this incident and charged with Manufacturing Methamphetamine first offense were Carisa J. Bradshaw age 33, Deena Collings age 25 & William Wethington age 23 all of Campbellsville and Nicholas Burgin age 27 of Cox’s Creek, KY.
The HIDTA Drug Enforcement Task Force was called to dismantle the active lab.
Mon. July 26
An 8 year old Lawrenceburg, Ky. child was killed in an atv accident over the weekend in Green County.
8 year old Grant Livers died on Sat. evening around 6:30 p.m. as a result of the accident. Livers was visiting his grandparents in the Grabb Community when the accident occurred.

An Adair Co. teenager, who wrecked and flipped her car on Sat. night, was located Sun morning after spending hours trapped inside her vehicle and was flown to a Louisville hospital.
Trooper Kenny Perkins is investigating the collision that occurred 12 miles west of Columbia, on Milltown Road. The collision occurred when a 2001 Chevy, operated by Bridgette Wade, age 18, was traveling eastbound on Milltown Road . Wade’s vehicle left the right side of the roadway, traveled through the ditch, struck a culvert and overturned. Wade was trapped in the vehicle until a passerby spotted the vehicle and notified police at approximately 8:20 am on Sun. Wade was airlifted from the scene by helicopter and transported to the University of Louisville Hospital for her injuries. Trooper Perkins was assisted at the scene by Adair County EMS.

A Marion Co. man was killed following a motorcycle accident over the weekend in Marion County.
Kentucky State Police say around 10:30 Saturday morning, Jerry Sallee, 53, of Lebanon was headed east when his motorcycle dropped of the right shoulder of the road.
He then struck a guardrail and overturned. Sallee was pronounced dead at Spring View Hospital. An investigation continues.

2 Russell Countians were arrested on drug charges over the weekend by the R.C. Sheriffs Dept.
48 year old Larry “Cannonball” Appleby, and 49 year old Melissa Finch of Jamestown were arrested around 10 o'clock on Sat. night after a search warrant was executed at “Cannon’s Recycling” and Appleby’s residence behind the business off of South 127. Appleby and Finch are charged with Trafficking In a Controlled Substance – Hydrocodone, Possession of Marijuana & Drug Paraphernalia and Illegal Possession of Police Radio Scanners.
Appleby and Finch were lodged in the Russell County Jail .

A Casey Co. man was arrested on Fri. by KSP on mfg meth charges.
TPR Kenny Perkins arrested Kelly Goode, age 29 of Dunnville, just after 11 am. Goode was charged with manufacturing meth 1st degree, Possession of marijuana, possession of controlled substance 3rd degree, possession of drug paraphernalia and prescription drugs not in proper container. Goode was lodged in the Adair County Detention Center

A one vehicle accident on Sat. night in Jamestown sent one person to a Lexington hospital and resulted in the arrest of another.
The accident occurred at 11:40 p.m. near the entrance to “The Links and Lily Creek Resort” when 34 year old Larry Russell of Jamestown lost control of his 1993 Chevy S-10 pickup, left the roadway and rolled over. One of two passengers in the vehicle, Barry Appleby of Jamestown, sustained serious injuries and was airlifted from the scene to the U.K. Medical Center. Another passenger, 49 year old William Robinson, also of Jamestown, declined medical treatment. The driver, Larry Russell, was taken by ambulance to the Russell County Hospital where he was treated and later released and was arrested on a DUI charge and lodged in the Russell County Jail.

The Teletown Hall meeting for Adair & surrounding counties is at 1:10 p.m. central time.
Approximately 40,000 households in the First District will be contacted during the two Teletown Hall Meetings. Participants will be invited to ask questions during the meeting and will be identified on the call by their first name and hometown only.
Thurs. July 22
A Taylor Co. man was arrested Wed. afternoon after allegedly pulling a gun on another man in an attempt to rob him.
At approximately 2:14 PM, Campbellsville Police responded to Green River Plaza near the Taylor County Bank. There was a report of a man with a gun pulled on another person in a vehicle in the parking lot.
It was reported that Ben Begley of Campbellsville allegedly had pointed a gun at Ricky Burton of Campbellsville.
Begley was arrested and charged with Robbery & Wanton Endangerment. Begley was lodged in the Taylor County Detention Center .
