Equine Short Course

This is a four-part series of classes that is being offered to current and prospective horse owners in and around Adair, Green and Taylor Counties.  Dates and topics are as follows:

March 6 — Facilities @ Green County Extension Office

March 13 — Vaccinations & Parasite Control @ Adair County Extension Office

March 20 — Horse Shoeing School @ Green County Extension Office

March 27— Behavior and Equipment @ Taylor County Extension Office

Classes will be taught by University of Kentucky Specialists, local Extension Agents, and farriers. Each class will begin at 5:30 pm CT. There will be a meal provided for all participants at each meeting.  Registration for the entire event is $40 per person ($10 per session). This will cover the costs of meals and reference materials that will be provided to each participant. There is a limited number of registrations that will be accepted. The Egypt Christian Church will host the Goodins in a Gospel Concert on Sunday night, February 26 at 6:30 PM.  Everyone is invited to attend and enjoy an evening of inspirational music.  Following the concert cake and ice-cream will be served in the fellowship hall in honor of February birthdays and wedding anniversaries.

The regular monthly meeting of the VFW and the Ladies Auxiliary are held the second Thursday of each month at 7 PM at the post located at 411 Fairground Street, Columbia, Ky. We encourage all members to attend as regularly as possible. Any veteran who thinks he or she may qualify for membership is also invited to join us for verification.  Any prospective new member must bring a copy of your DD-214 to verify eligibility.  Veterans, please help by supporting us locally as the VFW supports us with the government.
