"RUN"DEZVOUS Car, Bike, & Tractor Show


The Green River KruZerS Car Club will host the annual "RUN"DEZVOUS Car, Bike, and Tractor Show" at the Adair County Fairgrounds on Monday, Sept. 1 (rain or shine). Registration is from 8 a.m. - 12 p.m. and the show entry fee is $20. There will be multiple awards awarded, door prizes, 50/50 pot, and live music. The event is FREE to spectators.


Donations for two firefighters hurt in ice bucket challenge


U.S. Civil Corps and United Citiznes Bank have setup a fund to help two Kentucky firefighters hurt in an ice bucket challenge accident in Campbellsville.

Captain Tony Grider and firefighter Alex Quinn have been in the hospital since Thursday, August 21. They were hurt while helping Campbellsville University students complete a charity ice bucket challenge.

100% of all donations will go directly to the families.



Free Diabetes Classes


Do you have diabetes?  The Living Well with Diabetes education series will be offered at the Adair County Health Department on September 17th, 24th and October 1st and 8th from 10am to 12:30 pm. The Class is FREE but pre-registration is required so call 1-800-928-4416 EXT 1166 to sign up.


Free Child Safety Seat Inspections

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet's Office of Highway Safety is partnering with the Ky. State Police and the Adair County Judge Executive's office to sponsor a free child safety seat inspection at the Jim Blair Community Recreation Center at 901 Hudson Street in Columbia on Monday, Sept. 15,  from 2pm-5pm.

Nationally certified child passenger safety technicians will educate participants on correct installation and usage and check for recalls or damage to the seat. Attendees should allow approximately 20 minutes per seat.


KSP Post 15 Motorcyle Ride for Trooper Island


KSP Post 15 is having a Motorcycle Ride to benefit Trooper Island Summer Camp for kids.  The ride is Saturday, September 13th and begins at 10:30 AM CST at the Kentucky State Police post located at 1118 Jamestown St, Columbia with registration beginning at 9:00 AM.  The ride will conclude at the Dale Hollow Lake State Lodge where lunch will be provided.  

The cost is $30 per single rider or $50 for doubles.  The price includes lunch and a t-shirt.  Door prizes will also be given away.
