The public is invited to attend a town hall meeting with Kentucky State Sen. Sara Beth Gregory on Monday, April 21, at Lindsey Wilson College.
Gregory, whose seven-county 16th District includes Adair County, will speak at 11:30 a.m. in the board room of the Cranmer Dining & Conference Center.
Gregory will discuss the $20.3 billion budget for the state’s 2014-16 biennium that Kentucky lawmakers approved during the recent session of the General Assembly. She also will be available to answer questions from constituents.
Milltown United Methodist Church is having a Sunrise Easter Service on Sunday, April 20th at 6:00 a.m. with breakfast immediately following. If weather permits, the Sunrise service will be held outside on the pavilion
The regular Easter service will be held at 11:00 a.m.
Milltown United Methodist Church will be showing the movie Passion of the Christ at 6:00 pm on Good Friday, April 18th. A pizza fellowship will be held before the movie begins. The pastor is Gary Daugherty.
An Adair Co. family lost everything in a fire on Friday, April 11, and need your help.
The fire occured at Lisa Mueller’s and Keela Hammond’s duplex at 23 Keen Drive. The two women and their children lost everything. Donations for the family, such as clothes, household items, furniture or monetary donations may be dropped off at Adair County Judge Executive Ann Melton’s Office, 424 Public Square, Ste 1, in Columbia during normal business hours. The Adair County High School Junior Class will be having an Adair County Candidate Chili Cook-off on Saturday, April 19 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm in the Adair County High School Cafeteria. A special program will be presented at Trinity United Methodist Church on Wednesday and Thursday (April 16th and 17th) at 6:30 p.m. titled, “The Five Places that Jesus Bled.” There will be readings, songs and a time to reflect on the sufferings of our Lord.
