School Attendance Month proclamation rescheduled

The press release about School Attendance month said a proclamation was scheduled for Tuesday at 9 a.m. at the annex. It's been rescheduled for the next day, Wednesday. September 7, at 9 a.m.

Adair County Christian Convention

The Adair County Christian Convention will be held at the Egypt Christian Church September 9-11, 2016,
The Friday, September 9, 2016, session begins at 6:30pmCT, and will feature local speakers.
Saturday, September 10, 2016 will be "Youth Day" and begins at 3pmCT, with inflatables and a petting zoo. There will be food at 4pmCT and worship at 5:15pmCT. Michael Godsey will speak at 6pmCT, and final worship and closings will be at 6:40pmCT. Also included will be a Bible Quiz for adult teams from each participating church.
Sunday, September 11, 2016--the session will begin with a fish fry at 5pmCTG and worship at 6:30pmCT with Joe Tipton from Monticello, KY  as the speaker. There will also be a community choir providing music with special music by the Second Christian Church of Columbia. 

Second Annual Squarecrows

The Adair Heritage Association announces that the second annual "Squarecrows" will begin set up September 30th and October 1st. Judging and prizes again this year with the People's Choice voted during Downtown Days.

Little House Fabric Fall Class Schedule

Oct. 4 & 11 -- Dresden Plate Placemats: Afternoon 1-3 cost $5.00
Oct. 18 & 25 -- Dresden Plate Placemats: Evening 6-8 cost $5.00
These placemats will be made from Christmas fabric. After the first, you may want to make more. Then you may pick out your own fabric and the cost will be for the fabric. 
 
Oct. 13, 20, & 27 -- Quilting Bee: Morning 9-12
A quilt will be in a frame and anyone who wants can come quilt. If you would like to learn the art of quilting, this will be a great opportunity to do this. No cost.
Nov. 1, 8, 15, 22, & 29 -- Learn to Sew (for adults): Each evening 6-8 cost $10.00 per session
You must bring your own sewing machine for this class. One of the many things taught will be how to read a pattern as well as constructing an item following a pattern. 
Children's classes in How to Sew will be taught on Saturday mornings after Christmas. Please come by The Little House Fabric Shop to see samples of what will be taught. If you have any questions, please call 270-250-4216.

The Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) will be hosting a 5th Quarter after every Adair County High School home football game.

The 5th Quarter will be open to all high school students as it will be an opportunity for high school students to fellowship with one another, with local pastors and youth pastors/leaders.

The 5th Quarter will be held in the ACHS gymnasium. There will be free food, drinks, games, and music for high school students to enjoy. 

Also, there will be a devotional speaker at each 5th Quarter event. The 5th Quarter will end at approximately 10:30 p.m., so please make arrangements for your child to be picked up.
