The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet's Office of Highway Safety is partnering with the Ky. State Police and the Adair County Judge Executive's office to sponsor a free child safety seat inspection at the Jim Blair Community Recreation Center at 901 Hudson Street in Columbia on Monday, Sept. 15, from 2pm-5pm.
Nationally certified child passenger safety technicians will educate participants on correct installation and usage and check for recalls or damage to the seat. Attendees should allow approximately 20 minutes per seat.
There will be a fundraiser this Friday, August 29 for the Greensburg City and County Emergency Agencies mobile command center. The fundraiser will be held in the parking lot of Fred's. The menu consists of hamburgers, hotdogs, chip, cookies, cakes, and drinks. For more information or to schedule a delivery order call 270-576-7247.
KSP Post 15 is having a Motorcycle Ride to benefit Trooper Island Summer Camp for kids. The ride is Saturday, September 13th and begins at 10:30 AM CST at the Kentucky State Police post located at 1118 Jamestown St, Columbia with registration beginning at 9:00 AM. The ride will conclude at the Dale Hollow Lake State Lodge where lunch will be provided.
The cost is $30 per single rider or $50 for doubles. The price includes lunch and a t-shirt. Door prizes will also be given away.
First District Congressman Ed Witfield will be in Columbia on Wednesday, September 3rd at 2:00 pm central time at Lindsey Wilson College in the Hodge Auditorium located in the Sumner building for a meet and greet. He will be speaking and will also be taking question from those in attendance. The event is open to everyone and encouraged to attend.

Homecoming services will be held on Sunday, August 31, at 10am at Emorys Chapel Church in the Chance Community of Adair County. The group 7-8-10 (the Feese Family) will be singing & Bro. Bobby Withers will be bringing the message. A potluck meal will follow the service.
