A house in Adair co. was destroyed by fire early Tues.
The Adair County Fire Dept responded to a residential house fire at 221 Union Hill Lane, off Ky 55 North in the Coburg community just after 4:00 a.m. The home was owned by John Shehan. Upon firefighters arrival, the house was totally engulfed in fire and was a total loss. 15 firemen were on the scene for about 3 hours and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
A Russell Co. man was killed in a 1-vehicle crash on Tues.evening.
Tpr. Adam Likins is investigating the collsion that occurred at 5:45 p.m. four miles east of Russell Springs on East West Wilson Road. 72-year-old Hubert H. Eads of Russell Springs, was operating a 1997 Jeep when the vehicle dropped off the right side of the roadway, traveled down a steep embankment and came to final rest after hitting a tree. Eads was not belted and was pronounced dead at the scene. Tpr. Likins was assisted at the scene by the Eli Fire Department.
Two Taylor Co. women have been arrested for shoplifting at Walmart in Columbia.
On Sat., Dec. 2nd, Columbia Police Department and WalMart Asset Protection Officer’s arrested 2 Taylor County women for felony shoplifting.
Officers recovered over $1,000 in stolen merchandise. 23-year-old Magan Keith and 23-year-old Jessica Murphy both of Taylor County were charged with 1 count each of Theft By Unlawful Taking Over $500 (Shoplifting) and lodged in the Adair County Regional Jail by Columbia Police Dept. Sgt. Gary Roy and Officer Josh Brockman. More charges are expected as the investigation continues by Sgt. Roy.
A 2-vehicle collision involving a semi and a pickpuck truck occured in Taylor Co. on Tuesday morning at 7:14am Eastern Time at the at the intersection of KY 210 and Old Pitman Creek Road.
A tractor trailer driven by Charles J. Conley age 52 of Guston, KY was traveling east on KY 210 and was attempting to turn left onto Old Pitman Creek Road. A pickup truck operated by 46-year-old Allen J. Reckelhoff of Indiana was also traveling east on KY 210 following the semi-tractor-trailer. The investigation reveals that the pickup truck was unable to stop as the semi was turning and Reckelhoff struck the trailer. Both vehicles came to rest in the east lane of KY 210.
Neither driver required treatment and the collision remains under investigation by the Campbellsville Police Dept.
