A third candidate has filed for Adair County Judge Executive.
Current District Magistrate Joe Rogers filed his papers to run in the May Primary on the Democratic ticket for Co. Judge Exec. So far, only one other Democrat has filed for this position, local businessman Michael Stephens, former owner of the Prescription Shop. Republican incumbent Ann Melton has also filed for another term in office.
Also this month (Dec.) other candidates who have filed for various offices include: Republican Jamey Neat for Magistrate in District 1 and Republican Stephen Johnson for Constable in District 5.
During the month of November 2013, there were 29 traffic accidents investigated by the State Police working in the Post 15 area in the 11 counties of Adair, Casey, Clinton, Cumberland, Green, Marion, Metcalfe, Monroe, Russell, Taylor and Washington.
There were six fatal collisions during the month of November in the Post 15 area.
Marty Hammons, age 21 of Bowling Green was killed on 11/10/13 in Green Co.
Robert G. Kimbler Jr., age 56 of Columbia was killed on 11/14/13 in Green Co.
Joseph Daniel Mattingly, age 60 of Loretto was killed on 11/11/13 in Marion Co.
Charles D. Kirtley, age 40 of Campbellsville was killed on 11/22/13 in Casey Co.
Johnnie M. McElroy, age 54 of Glasgow was killed on 11/30/13 in Green Co.
Benny H. Scott, age 67 of Hardyville was killed on 11/30/13 in Green Co.
This brings our yearly fatality count to 21 compared with 34 through this same period in 2012.
State wide fatality count stands at 584 compared with 681 through this same period in 2012.
