A traffic stop on Burksville Street in Columbia resulted in multiple charges on Monday evening, December, 2nd.
Adair Co. Deputy Sheriff Aaron Rainwater conducted the traffic stop in front of Save-a-Lot for expired tags. After making the stop, Deputy Rainwater spoke with the occupants and a search of the vehicle yielded over 2 ounces of marijuana and drug paraphernalia under a passenger seat of the vehicle and a large sum of cash on the passenger, 25-year-old James Brandon Carrey of Greensburg. Carrey was charged with Trafficking in Marijuana under 8 oz and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, both misdemeanors.
The driver of the vehicle, 20-year-old Danielle Symmes of Columbia was cited for Expired Registration and Possession of an Open Container in a Motor Vehicle, also misdemeanors.
Deputy Rainwater was assisted at the scene by Officer John Dial.
