The Adair County Sheriff's Office made a drug trafficking arrest late Saturday night March, 8.
Deputy Aaron Rainwater observed a white Ford Focus turning onto College Park from Wright Drive without signaling and initiated the stop. The Deputy detected the odor of marijuana in the vehicle and conducted a search which led to finding multiple individual baggies of marijuana in the vehicle and on the operator. Officers also recovered a large some of cash and drug paraphernalia. 22-year-old Robert Jones of Columbia was charged with Failure to Signal, Possession of Marijuana, Trafficking in Marijuana less than 8 ounces 1st offense, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Deputy Rainwater was assisted by Officers Johnny Dial & Josh Brockman along with Adair Co. Deputy Sheriff Adam Cravens.
An Adair Co. man was arrested last week with crimes related to child porn and drugs. An Adair Co. woman was arrested at the same time on drug charges.
On Thursday, March 6, at approximately 6:16 p.m., Kentucky State Police arrested 42-year-old Christopher Turner on charges related to possession and distribution of matter portraying a sex performance by a minor as well a multiple drug offenses. KSP also arrested Lisa Hadley, 29, on multiple drug offenses. Both were lodged in the Adair County Regional Jail.
Turner was arrested as the result of an undercover Internet Crimes Against Children investigation. The KSP Electronic Crime Branch began investigating after discovering a suspect on the Internet sharing images of child sexual exploitation or what is commonly referred to as child pornography. The majority of the images depicted children who were less than 12 years of age.
The investigation resulted in the execution of a search warrant on Thursday, March 6 by the KSP Electronic Crime Branch and units from KSP Post 15 at Turner’s residence in Columbia.
Equipment used to possess child pornography was seized during the execution of the search warrant and taken to KSP’s forensic laboratory for examination. Turner is currently charged with 13 counts of distribution of matter portraying a sex performance by a minor and 120 counts of possession of matter portraying a sex performance by a minor. In addition, Turner was charged with possession of a controlled substance-3rd degree, possession of drug paraphernalia and prescription controlled substance not in proper container-1st offense.
Hadley, who was in Turner’s residence when police executed the search warrant, was also arrested and charged with drug related offenses. Hadley was charged with possession of a controlled substance, 3rd degree; possession of drug paraphernalia; trafficking in controlled substances including Meth; possession of controlled substances including Meth; and carrying a concealed deadly weapon.
The investigation is ongoing.
