On Sunday, June 24th, 2018 at approximately 9:00 AM EST Trooper Clint Bale was attempting to execute a warrant at a residence located 5 miles north of Summersville on Rountree Court. As Tpr. Bale observed the residence a male exited the back door. Tpr. Bale made contact with the male and a female, neither would provide identification. Both subjects initially gave Tpr. Bale fictitious names however he located an identification card with the male subject’s information. The female, Emily Wheatley, age 30 of Lebanon consented for Troopers to search the vehicle in the driveway along with the residence that she stated belonged to her. Upon searching the residence Troopers located a marijuana smoke pipe and syringes. A clear bag with white powdered residue, a small package believed to contain methamphetamine and digital scales were located in the vehicle.. Tpr. Bale arrested Samuel Mudd, age 21, of Lebanon on an outstanding probation warrant, giving officer false identifying information and Trafficking in a controlled substance, 1st degree, 1st offense – (<2 grams methamphetamine.) Ms. Wheatley was charged with giving officer false identifying information and Trafficking in a controlled substance, 1st degree, 1st offense – (<2 grams methamphetamine.) Both subjects were lodged in the Taylor County Detention Center. Tpr. Bale was assisted by Tpr. Marvin Blakey.
