COLUMBIA, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson men’s swim team has been picked to finish third in the Mid-South Conference in 2018-19, according to the MSC Coaches’ Preseason Poll released by the conference office on Thursday.
The Blue Raiders collected 33 total voting points in the poll. Coaches were not allowed to vote for their own team in the poll.
Lindenwood-Belleville (Ill.) was selected as the favorite to win the conference in 2018-19 after garnering 46 voting points and four of the eight first-place votes. The Lynx have won the MSC Championship meet three consecutive years. Cumberlands (Ky.), after finishing sixth at the NAIA championship a year ago were picked to finish second with 42 voting points and the remaining three first-place votes.
Loyola (La.) is fourth with 29 points followed by Life (Ga.) in fifth with 25 points. Campbellsville (Ky.) is sixth with 19 points, and one first place vote, while Midland (Neb.) is seventh with 17 points. Bethel (Tenn.) rounds out the poll in eighth with 16 points.
Last season, the Blue Raiders finished third at the MSC Championships before going on to record an eleventh-place finish at the NAIA National Championships.
The 2019 Mid-South Conference Championship is scheduled for Jan. 31- Feb. 2 at the Kingsport Aquatics Center in Kingsport, Tennessee.
